    I've made a decision - I WILL take it hunting, but not until it gets a custom paint job to make it more palatable to the general public. I am kind of torn between these two color schemes;

    My opinion is as many others. If it is legal than fine. But you are going to be getting much much unwanted publicity. Perception is everything. If all hunters were to use one of those ugly looking military styled rifles the preception of hunters (by media/non-hunters/anti-hunters) would shift from "Hill-Billies" to "Blood thirsty Terrorists" and that would quickly fuel their fire for gun control and anti hunting initiatives. That is why I don't think it should be used for hunting. Hell even going to the range, if you tie a rag on your head, you would look just like some of the footage the media plays when talking about the taliban. Is that how our sports should be related? Remember more and more of our voting public are people fleeing war torn parts of this world.

    The second pic above looks ghey.

    The first pic above looks awsome.

    If you shoot within your limits you should be able to use whichever firearm you like. We have had people defending posts describing hunters emptying 2 clips at a moose and then running over their own guns with their truck. Its all good cos they ran over traditional hunting rifles.

    Yet you should'nt be seen hunting with a black rifle. Don't make much sense to me - but its divided we fall I spose?

    Your baby comment still shows up you could ask a mod to remove it - if you felt so inclined.

    I especially like the TAVOR;

    I think it would be a lot of fun using this to hunt Coyotes. It also accepts 10-round .223 LAR pistol mags which are legal, circumventing the 5 round limit. Just in case I run into a whole family of coyotes But something tells me I might get a lot of unwanted attention walking around with it in the field.

    What do you guys think?
    How do you figure the 10 shot mag is legal? It's an autoloader, right? and it's a centre fire rifle, right. Wouldn't that make use of a 10 shot clip with it illegal? The only exception to the 5 shot mag limit I am aware of is the M1-Garand, or are there others?

    Just cause you can doesn't mean you should.

    It is also legal to carry my shotgun and rifle unlocked and unloaded in my front seat of my car in plain sight while driving around, lets say Toronto. So just because it is legal doesn't mean you should do it.

    I want YOU to take it hunting, so we can desensitize the public to "scary" guns. However, I don't want one myself for the fear of ERT humping me in the bush.

    I was looking through some of my old hunting mags from the early 80's (All americain) Some rifles similiar to these were actually advertised as the perfect tool for hunting, especially Heckler Koch.

I think the CX-4 is one of the funnest rifles I've ever shot. Buut, only at the range. There's no place for an assault rifle in the woods, even if it is non-restricted. Stick to good ol' faithful.

    I agree with that in pratice but, all of our hunting rifles are designed on a military design -or at least the principle. mausers are the obvious ones ,but even my 94 winnie was LOOSLEY based on the 76' 44-40 used to fight the war in the west. Or the brown bess used by the british. Im sure there's some semi auto actions based on a military Ohh like the ruger 10/22 based upon the M1 carbine. My point is that hunting guns stem from military guns. But that tavar looks stupid IMO would be weird to load weirder to shoot (me thinks) and 300 yards isn't gonna impress a hole heck of alot of people your remmy 700 should do 400-500yards probably past 6 even

    sorry if a skimilar post has been posted i skimed through.
