Dog abandoned with suitcase at train station
Sad story making the headlines....
Authorities in Scotland are looking for whomever abandoned a mixed-breed dog outside a railway station, along with a suitcase containing his food and other belongings.
The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information on Facebook after the male shar-pei crossbreed was discovered Friday night, tied to a railing outside the Ayr train station. Beside him was a suitcase with some of the dog's belongings, including a pillow, toy, a bowl and food.

Hopefully they find a good home where they don't use him as a step stool.
OH! Silly me, it's only a dog.

I actually have more respect for an owner like that , than those who just take the dog's collar off and put it out the door.
Occasionally a dog is left at the dog park with no id.
I don't think it is that easy to rehome a dog you can't keep - and there are good reasons for not being able to keep your dog.( divorce, bedridden future from an illness, mental illness strikes etc..)
I'm not sure of my facts entirely , but in London:
Animal Control only picks up dog strays. Not cats anymore ; you have to catch the cat and bring it to them.
London Humane society deals with abuse.
If you can't keep your dog , animal control can't help you , and the Humane Society charges you so much a month to keep your dog until it is adopted.
I don't know what rescue organizations require.
We know that lots of poor people have dogs- I know they shouldn't have a dog if they can't afford one, but I'm talking about in reality.
What do they do? They get rid of their dogs in ways we find unacceptable. In London, they often tie their dog to the Humane Society door over night.
They care about their dogs ,but don't have many options.

Thanks Sharon, I like to follow these stories along.
It smells fishy with so many buyers and sellers involved..no none of which should have been able to own a dog in the first place.
I'm sure with the attention he's garnering, a good home will be found
