The Dogs of Briton
A passing interest article; shows the population densities of dog breeds in the U.K. Some interesting statistics.
I wonder how it would compare to a province like Ont ?

Pure viciousness.

I'd say the stats are probably similar in Ontario (minus the pitbull) if you stick with urban living..

Plenty of UK breeders still prefer tattoos over chipping.

akc publishes numbers for the US if you're interested. Not all dogs are in AKC, so it's not complete, but interesting nevertheless.
not sure about CKC

Great article for canine demographics, but the Beeb also ought've listed the "bottom dogs" across the UK to go along with the top breeds. Like this one,

which was down to eight in number after WWII and has slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y rebounded to some semblance of viability as a working gundog breed.
Luckily, the Brits - and the KC - are at least semi-committed to keeping 'em keeping on through the Vulnerable Native Breeds recognition campaign. Long may it reign.
