Default Cancun King Mackeral and Barracuda

Last week my wife and I, along with her sister and husband made it down to Mexico for a much needed break from the cold. My brother in law and I booked a 4 hour charter through Cancun Fishing Tours and went out to try our luck.

The waves were fierce, and it was tough to even get back to the fighting chair due to the boat movement, but we did our best and ended with a total of 7 King Mackeral and 2 barracudas. The largest of both being about 50". At one point my BIL had a fish on and was working it in, when all of a sudden the reel started screaming and it almost took the rod out of the holder. After a couple seconds it stopped, then it was just dead weight. He got it to the boat and it was a 15 lb Mackeral that was now missing it's back half! A shark must have got a hold of it half way in, so that was pretty exciting!

It was a great morning and I would highly recommend this outfit to anyone who wants to try they're luck out of Cancun. It ended up being quite affordable as well, the cost of the trip being $320, and we were the only other clients on the boat!
At the end of the day we took one of the Mackeral back to the resort and had them cook it for us, it was some of he best fish I've had!

Anyways, here's some pics! (Sorry for the sideways ones.. Don't know how to fix that...)

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will squander all his earnings, relationships and free time.

Kingfish and cudas are ALWAYS fun. Good job guys.
And she thinks we’re just fishin’ on the riverside, throwin’ back what we could fry. Drownin’ worms and killin’ time, nothin’ too ambitious.
