Best in Show ; a Canuck Beagle !!!

When I look at that Beagle I have nothing but sour memories........standing on a snowshoe hare runway for four hours, freezing, while your buddy's non-tonguing hound silently runs the hare......watching the silent hound back-run on the same trail.....hearing your buddy blowing the whistle for three more hours as he attempts to find his dog..................looking for the dog's carcass after you hear, then cut fresh coyote tracks while you're running the hound....spending two hours pulling quills out of the hound after it decides to roll on a dead porcupine.....cutting the hound's collar off with Buck knife after it grinds its neck into a pile of human e left in the bush....spending the last two hours of light looking for the hound........listening to the profanity come from your buddy when he can see the hound still running a cold trail, and refusing to come to the leash............. ahh!.......memories!

It seems you always have an extreme experience. You keep things interesting that for sure. lol

Wasn't too many years back that another beagle, male that time that took top honors there. She sure is a good lookin little Beagle. Nice to see it given to a little workin dog...

I think last year was a terrier, and the previous year was the beagle.

I thought there was a mistake in the sporting group... The chessie didn't even make the cut. Conspiracy?? With so many registered labs in the akc there would be riots in the street if a chessie placed ahead of the lab.

Really enjoyed the show. Particularly liked the springer spaniel. Not only nice to see the beagle from B.C. win, but also the handler , Will Alexander from Toronto. He has been handling dogs for 20 + years and I think this is his first Westminster win.

Nice looking beagle. As a former beagle owner I will always have a soft spot for those little hounds. What she needs is a bit of scratches from underbrush and a swamplike aroma though.
