I am new to the site and I have found this discussion disheartening. If it is legal whats the problem? Perception you say. With this attitude the Liberal agenda will prevail. I see this as a generational issue more than anything. The younger folks like having a pistol grip and synthetic stocks. We as a firearms community need to be more open.
By the way I could be classed as a fudd myself because I am old and I shoot guns with ordinary wooden stocks. But if we don't include others well guess what. We fudds will go the way of the dinosaurs and the Liberals will have won.

OK so its legal to hunt with....
Hello 911 whats your emergency.....There is a man dressed in camo with a machine gun on my neighbors property.
OK we will send a car over to investigate.... Ok thank you.
30 min goes by..
Cops shows up and you get to explain to them how your baby killer is legal...you can explain it down at the station sir..put your hands on your head please....
Cops have NFC whats legal and whats not, you dont really think there going to let u wander around with that thing do you ?? One thing cops dont mess around with is fire arms. Oh Im sure in the end u will get your gun back after they figure out its legal but your day of hunting is finished. I bet if u got checked by the CO he would hold u there until a cop could come to take over.
This is right up there with hunting with a pistol grip 870 with a pistol grip on the slide as well.... anybody who does that should get a star.
aim for the white patch, G

same damn thing with a scoped rifle sporting a black synthetic stock. It's a sniper rifle ya know. Cops have NFC and some will give you the same treatment in this case too.

Great hunter. Yes? Fine figure of a man. Yes?
Good. That is all you need to know. For now.

That's a good reason why you should carry your registration certificate with you. It will show that it is registered legally and that it is not prohibited or even restricted. I dont' see any problem hunting with an 870 with a pistol grip, my god guys, they sell a lot of turkey camo'd shotguns only with a pistol grip stock. Use whatever firearm you want as long as it is legal, but you may have some explaining to do if you get stopped, and you probably will get stopped. I mean if hunters and sportsman are bashing the use of these legal guns what are the tree-huggers and anti-gun folks going to say. Why are we not sticking together on the use of a legal hunting tool. Although some cops may not know every gun on the market and whether it falls into prohibited, restricted and non-restricted class, if you carry your registration I am pretty sure that they are all capable of reading. A lot will have to do with your attitide towards them as well. Some of you guys probably would love my moose rifle. Browning A-Bolt, matte finish, black synthetic stock, camo sling, with harris bi-pods attached to front swivel with a ballistic drop sheet on one side and windage adjustment on the other. And if that doesnt sit right with you my grouse gun is a 10-22 matte finish, oversized bull barrel (.920), red dot scope, black sling, hogue rubberized stock, complete with trigger job, extended mag release and a 20 round extended magazine. Although I shouldnt have to explain myself the magazine is so I don't fumble with those little mags when getting off the ATV and trying to load with gloves on while the grouse is walking away.

All the more reason for you to stick around. There's a reasonable membership here. More importantly, being an Ontario forum, many are based where the laws of this country are made. If only 30% find themselves, all be it indirectly, supporting the anti gun agenda by placing unrequired limits on firearm activitys using peer pressure, Theres a problem. Perhaps you can help em wisen up.
