Skunk dug but hit grill and abandoned. Might be worth a shot, at least then you don't have to deal with a skunk in a trap.
It's darn hard to dig the frozen ground at this time of year.

Put some sardines in a cage trap to which you have tied a long rope - if the sardines don't work try some other food - once the skunk is in the trap get a hold of the rope and pull the cage far away from the house - take a 22 and shoot it in the head - put moth balls under the house so that another one doesn't go in there - and yes - cover up the entrance hole -
When I was a kid a skunk was digging a hole under the neighbors back porch - so I set a foot hold trap by the hole - next morning the neighbor told me that I had a skunk in the trap - now what - well I got my J C Higgins 16 gauge and blasted the skunk - blew it apart - man did it stink - people blocks away were smelling it - the neighbor's wife almost killed him for letting me set the trap - she kept throwing buckets of water on the spot - it took a week for the smell to go away -

I would blast Nickelback under the house with the bestest loudest speakers you can find. That will drive any beast or man out for good.

Live trap, with sardines as bait.
Once trapped, approach with a blanket held wide in front of you, and talk softly.
Drape the blanket over the trap, and leave for a few minutes, the skunk will not spray in a enclosed space.
Put in the back of a truck, and drive a minimum of 12 km away from your house, prop end of trap open ( with blanket still on) and eventually the little bugger will walk out and amble on his way. ( or leave blanket on and throw in a lake, wait until bubbles stop coming up, and then dump contents, either works).

get a live trap move it out from the house and kinda brush it in somewhere.......put a jar filled with marshmallows and sardines with holes drilled in the lid to let out the smell and viola .....you will have him in no time......after that you can throw something over the cage to darken it so it wont spray or if it does at least not on you.....then either relocate or .......ummmm otherwise

You know the law (FWCA) says maximum of 1 kilometer for relocation, right?

Well then I'm glad this is an anonymous site then aren't I?
Since if you relocate 1km, skunks and raccons will be back before you finish your coffee......
Wahoo, source please?
I've just gone over the reg, and can't find what you're referencing.
