Hi Guys!
I was reading this thread as a guest and just had to register and jump in!
I would love to try fishing salmon in the Nottawasaga.
I've never done it before but I got a 14 foot aluminum this year and would love to get in on this, where can I launch this boat in the river where I have a chance to get any? (I don't have a permit for Essa)
Got any advice for a brand newbie?
Thanks!

You can always launch at the mouth of the river a Wasaga. There are 3 launchs that I know of. One at Nancy Island park, one right at the mouth of the river and one at Sturgeon Point Marina which is right accross the river from the river mouth launch on River Road.
The first 2 I know you have to pay for parking. Not sure about Sturgeon Point Marina. I would imagine you would have to pay some sort of launch fee there as well.
Good luck.

Also forgot that there is a launch on Klondyke Park road. Just after you cross the bridge there is a big park on the east side of the road. There is a launch in there. Don't know about any fees though.

Hey everyone,
I use to fish the Nott when i was a kid with my dad. That is going on about 15 years ago. we use to jump off 89 at the dam ( i cant remember the name) right at the in and drive up to that small bridge and work our way back to the dam. we use to pull about 3-5 fish in every time we went. since it has been a long time that i was there, would that area just off the hwy still be a good spot? also if someone could tell me the name of the dam as well as where the boyne river is that would be great. like i said i havent been to that area for a long time.
thanks

mopefish launch the boat and just look for deep holes ,you may find some holding up in those areas,if you have a little fish finder on board would help find the holes, hope that helps

Spent a couple of hours today on the river in Wasaga Beach sand banks area. Didn't see or catch any fish but it appears they are catching them at the mouth in the boats so it won't be long now. You would think with the # of people fishing both on the Not and the pine river today the run is on?. I think 1/2more weeks.
On a different note; I was able to pick up some fishing line and some garbage today that was left there within the last couple of days, no wonder everyone is posting no Trespassing. WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING??????
