I was reminded that dogs were not to be off leash in any Conservation area etc from May 15 - August 1.
How do you folks who don't have private land work /train your dogs?

Are folks still getting a permit to work in a conservation area with chukar?

When I applied to get a training permit the CO who dealt with it out of Midhurst refused the application. Nobody has ever bothered me about running my dog off leash in a Conservation area. If he finds a nest I avoid the area. I can pretty well tell you from year to year where the grouse nest in my local bush and we can easily work around them.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I just don't listen . Lol I used to laugh at a local beach here that had a no dogs sign up . I worked my dog there for years and the kids folks used to wait for me to come just to see good dog work . I do understand the no dog policy and why but it was written for others and not me Lmao

I more or less follow this approach. I do most of my water training through the summer at a provincial wildlife area...the only people I ever run into there are fellow dog trainers and a birder here and there.........well and the marijuana farmers but that is a different story.

I've enjoyed these posts, because that is exactly what I do, and have never been bothered by a CO.
This came up because someone asked me about out of season training in a Conservation Area and I didn't want to lead them into trouble. As I recommended , they will have to make their own decision. Thanks guys.

Those types of laws are on the Fence post in the parking lot so that if someone complains the LEO's don't have to make a tough decision. Cut and dry.
