Poor dog !!!!
Ended well but I'm amazed this dog isn't coyote poop by now. He must have found some kind of shelter to survive this winter?

I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Nice to hear someone with a kind heart instead of a .22 took it upon herself to help the dog. Nice to have a happy ending.
Those coodhounds can sure run when they get onto something. He probably got onto an old buck who schooled him and left far from home. We had them at Hunt Camp for a few years and we'd get calls from miles away that our dog was curled up on their deck.

I remember as a kid we had a plott/blue tic hound that broke his chain and got loose. He came back 3 weeks later skin and bones and still dragging 6 feet of chain. We figure he got caught on a fence somewhere in the bush and could get at water to keep him alive. We had to slowly feed him and bring him back but he lived. If I recall, the dog would of been about 10 years old at the time too lol Lived til he was 16.
