Nope. Going nationwide to a ticked-off audience doesn't bring in more ad dollars.
This is way simpler. Everyone in AB is not conservative. One in three votes left. And Edmonton is the one city in AB that elects Liberal MPs.

The parent company (PostMedia) of the Edmonton Journal just bought Sun Media and has been approved by the Competition Bureau. It'll be very interesting to watch the editorial content of Sun newspapers to take a decidedly leftist bent along the same lines as The National Post and Toronto Star.
