I just picked up a HS Strutt small folding turkey seat. The fellow I work with has used one for years and really likes them. They have one set of legs a little shorter than the other so your more comfortable against the base of the tree. This will probably be the first year I don't buy a new call, so thats a change . TC

I planned on partisapating in the first Turkey hunt in N.B. But the Liberal won the election and cancelled the hunt. What a bummer,

Slept in last year and shot both toms around 1030 right after setting up. Going early opening morning then sleeping in the rest of the season.

Gonna enjoy my first Turkey season. On a plus side my friend just gave me permission to hunt on her 75 acre property that has lots of the tasty birds.

I'd like to focus on bagging my first Tom, but really, if it looks "big enough" i take the first 3"+ bearded bird that's in my sights.

I only get about 6 or 7 days to hunt over the whole season, so passing on a jake early on is a risky proposition.

My first year, the birds were extremely vocal and traveling across fields openly all day long. Would have been the perfect time to hold off and try to track down the Toms. But i didn't know what i didn't know.

The last few seasons, the birds have been quite quiet, sticking to the woods for their mid-day movements and we haven't seen any sign of a single Tom. Maybe i'll book off a few extra days...

I'm going to try carrying a roll of toilet paper this year. Tired of using my socks. The pair I used last spring were a $35 pair of thermal Lorpens.

At $35 a pair... i'd live with cling-ons and toss the $2 pair of GT boutique boxers when i got home.

Guys a little tip for you, you can always turn your t-shirt or undershirt into a muscle shirt and know one will be the wiser, don't ask me how I know this.........lol. Best to just remember a roll of tp though.......
I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!
