Not a chance in Heck that will ever happen.

Americans have second amendment and Teddy R. Make sure there is place to hunt and guns to own forever.
Maybe Canada needs politician or PM like that too.

It'll be up to us if a registry ever comes into effect again to ensure it fails from the get go...
Just don't register. En mass non compliance.
Unfortunately, most don't have the balls to refuse and will gladly line up to register... Again.

I really fail to understand why so many struggle with what I see as obvious. Here is my suggestion:
Only criminals or folk that are going to commit a crime, or folk with criminal intent need register their arms. You complete the application in advance with details surrounding the crime, then it will be decided if you have to register.
In my process, registering might possibly be a deterrent and this is where I see it to be completely different than the previous system, along with the reduced cost.

Return of Long Gun Registry
Ugo I like that idea. Kinda like Minority Report. Add in a licence to breed too.

If it ever came back and everyone or nearly everyone did not register their guns the system will fail as it will be useless, the government would have to realize the people will not stand for anymore b.s. and (hopefully) repeal the law. It would take the majority of gun owners to not register to make this work and I think too many of us will just give in.
