    Default Check for tick bites

Just a reminder not to get too casual about checking for tick bites when you've been in great out -of -doors.

Avril Lavigne , ( and we can imagine how much time she spends in the bush), was bitten and now has Lyme disease; has spent the last 5 months in bed. Long term effects are common.

(I had a bite last year and went to emerg to get the doxycycline pill within 24 hours.)

    good reminder, Sharon.
The big part of the problem is that most drs have no idea what Lyme is...
So, check for ticks, look for the bull's eye redness and take doxy ASAP if you see it.
and I still have a bottle of concentrated Permethrin for sale if anyone wants it

We started the dogs on their protection already, we had ticks the end of Apr last year. I'll pick up a can of Ultra Shield Horse Spray this week for our cloths, a quick spray before we head out for a walk keeps them from jumping on.

My wife religiously tucks her pant legs into her socks before we go out. I'm thinking of looking for those old pant clip type things we used to wear to ride our bikes as kids

Months later, a doctor of naturopathy sent his blood samples to a lab in California, which diagnosed him with Lyme disease.
As I said before, the scariest part, you're on your own in ON with this scary . Doctors need to catch up.
Look up the article I posted before on how Mr. Magnotta died from it. He had the money, but drs just failed him.

I was talking with my wife who works in the ER and she says they automatically (policy) give you the doxycycline pill if you come in with either the tick still in you for removal or in a jar a sample of what bit you.

She's like to see it rolled down to the Pharmacist to be able to give the doxycycline pill as an over the counter when you have been bitten.

One of the few things that Elizabeth May has ever done...good for her !!!
