Do I need anything other than a current rabies certificate to cross the border with my dog? He is just over a year old.

Anything else to consider? I think I heard some dog foods are not allowed to cross? Is that true?

Just crossed on the weekend they didn't even look at the dog papers only thing they said for next time was dog food in original bag so they can see what's in it. I had mine in a small container but they didn't do anything.

    ..................

True. Nothing with goat or lamb in it. They checked my dog food bag and rabies certificates this past week end. I left their regular collars on with city license tags attached, which shows I didn't buy them in the States when I returned.

Won the 1st trial in Amateur and came 4th in the second trial in Amateur.

If anyone is looking for a great time and running dogs and meeting some great people this is a great set up. Not much to getting over the border with a gun and competing. Cost to join is $50 international fee then $40 per event. You can run throughout the US if you would like. Check out the NSTRA web site. Ill post a little clip they had on youtube about the events.

If anyone wants more info pm me and I'll try to answer your questions.

    Thanks all for your responses.

Good tip on leaving the food in the bag. Will definitely do that.

Also, good idea Sharon on having the municipal tags on the collar...just for extra assurance that the dog is Canadian.

Bring the dog food along in an UNOPENED bag and ensure that what you are feeding is made either in Canada or the US (and that is clearly stated on the bag) ..... and as Sharon mentioned has no goat or lamb in it.
