Exactly what I was thinking . ( Great game to night between Penguins and the Rangers.)

this is true....although would have a better chance of working on his golf game........and would really stand out then...hell my 8 yr old has more heart and could skate circles around half the leaf lineup.

I have to agree with what Grapes said about Buffalo. Karma bit them in butt after they dismantled the team and then fired Nolan. i don't feel sorry for them at all. That being said, there are 5 or 6 great top picks so they'll still come out ok.

I am glad the leafs didn't get him as they likely would have traded him for Jaromir Jagr or some other has been in the twilight of his career.

Toronto doesn't need a winning team. They still fill the seats irrespective of whether the Leafs win or not. The Maple Leafs organization is the most lucrative sports franchise in North America. Why pay top dollar for a Connor McDavid? They would only get rid of him as soon as the contract is over if he becomes too good in the NHL.

Since the Leafs can't get this year's Number One pick, I have heard they are negotiating with a former Number One pick in order to get the fans excited.
    This guy:

He is probably in better game shape than Kessel.

Three year rookie contract as per cba, then likely big bucks for potential superstars before they reach free agency at 26-27 a la Toews and Stamkos.

McDavid will likely never hit Edmonton. He'll be bought before he ever gets there for some ridiculously high figure.

I cannot see a scenario where that happens.

An argument can be made, and was, that they should have traded down some of their other picks in past years. Now I think they will trade some of their young offensive talent for goal or defensive help to better balance their team.
