As long as you are very careful you can almost guarantee yourself that you won't get bit. The risk is worth the reward

Thanks. Getting the fish back in the water as quick as possible, unharmed, obviously without jeopardizing your own safety, is pretty much the most important thing in my opinion.

Southwest Florida. I was using 65lb braid with a 7ft leader of 490lb cable.
