While not really being the authority on crappie fishing or fishing in general my experience has been clear sky, full sunshine days produced the best in the early season. Last season I never started fishing crappie till around the 14th of May. Man did we ever do well. Mostly days that we were quite warm and full sun. Pretty bad when your sweating catching fish. Hope the warmer weekend will bring them in the shallows again produce good fishing action. Good luck with your weekend.

I hear ya on the pickerel fishing up there A Ray. We still have a camp in Hornepayne and usually try to get up a coupla times a year. Haven't been for a year and a half now so I have to put in the extra effort this soft water season.

Never got the temp but I think it was still a little low for them to be schooling in the shallows on a large scale. With the water levels coming up from the rain last week I think we need a few really warm days to set the crappie into a heavy biting state.
