"Vintage" shotgun shells?
Was gonna put this in guns and ammo... might get a few more views here?
Anyone know where one would look to purchase older shotgun shells? I go to the local gun show when I can, but it's once a year I get to see what the vendors from out of town happen to have. Been looking for a couple Winchester loadings for nostalgia reasons. Also keeping an eye out for old western AA hulls. Some stuff looks like it comes up online from time to time, but only in the states.

I love this sort of stuff, one thing I notice though is that most of the stuff is local. We see a lot of CIL, Imperial and Canuck stuff up here, I have not seen too much Winchester paper hulls.
I do want to get my hands on more obsolete rimfire, that stuff is not going to come back.
I go to gun shows, I want to start going to auctions too.

The shells I am looking for are actually plastic.. but they were "new" lol. One thing I have been looking for is 20ga. My grandfather bought up a bunch when one of the stores up here closed out and sold off everything years ago.. they were Winchester Westerns, (probably super-x) with the "Mark 5 shot collar". They ink on the hulls were red. Those shells were all he used and lasted him until he stopped hunting. Something very similar came up online, and they were pre- 1963? I have one left. Probably shot the rest up when I was young and took over his Topper single shot.
The others are not that old... probably from the 80's. Again.. Winchesters. They used to make a high brass CF hulled "Long Range" load sold in boxes of 20. And again.. they were what was around hunt camp a lot when I was a kid.
I saw some old Remingtons from I don't know when... they featured a "New crimp to eliminate blown patterns".. which was a standard fold crimp but they had a sticker or card on the end of the shell like they were rolled. Had Remington stamped into the brass (not the head). I never picked them up but neat to see stuff like this kicking around.. I'm guessing they were maybe 60-65yrs old?

You should be able to get that stuff at gun shows then, I guess our views of "vintage" are not the same, ha ha.
These are probably not old enough to be collectable yet so people don't even think about them.

I got a bunch of 16ga SG buckshot in a lot of upland loads, finding 16ga for $7/box is good, finding heavy lead loads in that same load is a lot better
.
I really need to get some pictures of my stash of old stuff.

I've got some old 16ga. purple paper Canuck empty hulls, and some blue(?) plastic Imperials.
I know some guys cut the brass off and make stuff (coat racks etc) with them.

Ive been slowing shooting my 45 year old imperial 20 guage shells. the box looks exactly the saeme as your but in pristene condition! they sure pack a wallop on anything you point them at-too bad they dont make shell like these anymore. They really go boom and show some smoke I love it!
