I've got enough guys for a guarantied tag this year , but wonce they see the numbers go through the roof in my zone , I'll bet no guaranty for next season . I'll also be concentrating more on the trapping this fall , and some birds , fishing . Just gonna enjoy as much of it while I can . After that who knows ? As for the Caribou , well what joke is all I can say there ..,

Thanks Foxx, I just feel very strongly about it . Hunting is my passion , and it seems every year we loose a little more of it while other are given more .. It's time it is said and said often ! Put blame where it should be put , not on measly little factors . We need equality across the board , befor it's to late ! No system that the MNR could ever dream up will ever have a positive effect until all moose harvested are accounted for . Our government is responsible for this mess , it's time they get there hands dirty cleaning it up . Hunting has been a part of my family hear in Cochrane since my great Grandfather hunted moose here . That's close to a hundred years of moose hunting , yet I have no rights ? Something wrong with this picture .. Seriously thinking about blocking some roads soon lol

Set it up A Ray, I'm sure you would have some backers and fellow blockers. If you just disrupted traffic and handed out info pamphlets it could be a peaceful demonstration. Hope homeland security don't get a hold of this topic. I could carpool with Foxx.

would certainly get the publics attention .. Just would need all the facts from say the last 20 years on hunter numbers , depletion of tags ect . Hand out a little info , shed some light on the subject .. Might even draw some media attention ? Could very well be worth looking into . Although not sure those who are blocked on the hwy would be very happy to accept the info lol . Best place for it would be on the 400 or 401 stop it dead around 4 pm rush hour , boy that would get a lot of attention eh lol

Who are we saving the moose for? Will we ever see the day when the moose numbers are so high that the gov't will allow us to shoot one with simply buying a license?

Stewing about it does sit well with me and there's nothing more that I can do. I feel that if I buy one, I condone what the ministry is doing and giving them the green light in continuing to screw things up even more

This is my small way of protesting for what they have done. I feel better knowing that I've done my small part.

No matter what meetings, discussions or other crap they tell you, the real issues will not be discussed nor any action will be done on what matters. You can attend all the meetings you want, this government is hurting for $$.

Screw Hydo up, sell it, pay off your grocery magnets, higher prices, and on and on it goes.

OFAH have done what they can do without losing funding for the gov. and on and on.

Sorry for the rant guys and gals

    Decision made.

Been a farce since the early 70's . You can tell how much $ they've got from me since they started buggering the thing

It looks like you'll be starting a new tradition with your brother and that's great! This tag system is like hunting, you don't always get one and sometimes there are adverse conditions but rather then quit and give up you get out there and rise above. You never know what opportunities you'll miss out on if you never take them....

    That is Good attitude

I personally buy all the tags , Bear 2 Moose Deer small game Woolf 2 helping the conservation and i don't mind it . I have a great time in the bush , collecting blueberries (free jam for the winter ) having a campfire on the crown land (free wood ) an organic meat from Bear ( in the freezer ) Some Grouse , Rabbit, wolf pelt , and also a good excise walking in the bush on fresh air ( not a penny for the gym)

Don't complain look for the bright side .

Some years ago they cancelled the spring Bear hunt and know we have more bear to hunt ....

Look for Elk what hepend , we can hunt again Elk ......

Go out and start enjoying the great outdoor .....

If you want to help , start hunting the predators to .........

Hunt more predators and going to be more moose to hunt .....

I buy the tags also. I do enjoy getting out in the wild, however after you have purchased all them tags, driven to the spot you will set up camp at, all the expenses how can you call a few blueberries for your jam free? The wood from crown land free? The walk with not a penny spent free? You my friend are one of many who could have bought a few cases of jam, a few bush cord of wood, and a gym membership all for the low, low cost of your hunting tags. Maybe, just maybe you might even get an adult moose tag and maybe even see a moose.

Now not look'in to start a brawl with ya's here but it ain't free. I do like my outdoors time and take it whenever I can. I probably get a lot more time in the field than a lot of folks. But it ain't free and it's gonna get a lot less free. Why would I buy a moose license with not a hope in hell of getting an adult moose tag to go pick berries? Without the license they just be less expensive.

Predator hunting will help in a small way, special groups with special rules are not helping. I have friends in these special groups and they love the lawless state of their hunting and fishing rights. Moose is one, another is the spawning pickerel. They don't hunt bear because they are sacred so there are lots now. Better just stop now, I know where this will go.

Outback, you make some good points....

Until the unregulated killing of moose is stopped or at least controlled, eventually there will be next to no moose in Ontario.

Walleye in the kawartha lakes will suffer the same fate.
