First Bird
Been getting up 4:30 every day for the last week and today was the last day for a while I could get out.
Heard birds all week and had a Tom two jakes and 3 hens fly down just out of range so I pilled some sticks up in a blind yesterday for this morning.
Got there and the turkeys had roosted in a different area but still not far away. By 6:45 I was getting fed up as I needed to be out of the woods by 7:30ish
I crawled about 20yards to see if anything was in the field and hit the box call immediately 2 responses but one was way closed then the other. I set my gun on top of a rotten stumped and payed down behind it. But like always tommy Turkey came out behind me. As he he stepped behind the tree my ground blind was made around I turned and let him have it with the 20ga dropped him one step from the blind
7am and I was out of the woods

After a long week you get a good quick hunt for your first bird, very good.
