How many times you seen a valid Cause dropped to LLA right there in the street, simply because it wasn't a situation where criminal action was appropriate. If this ever passed the same would happen. Warnings and TPA charges. And if it was a criminal event that warranted charges then the laws are already in place.

The best way to handle niusance complainants is to divulge their name and address to the subject. Neighbors have a way of "working things out." In our municipality, all complaints must be accompanied with ones name and address which are always made public. It sure cuts down on BS calls.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

When you commit a crime, you are left with a criminal record, which affects your future employment, your ability to travel outside the country, and so on. Speeding and trespassing are offences; murder is a crime.

The Criminal Code exists to punish those offences that society regards as particularly blameworthy, not as a hammer to be deployed in cultural disputes. Breitkreuz is simply currying political favour by proposing a bill that favours the activities of one constituency by criminalizing those who oppose them. It's not an appropriate use of the criminal law.

Making noise complaints will not be a criminal offence under this bill (which, incidentally, is not going to pass anyway), and will never be -- because the Supreme Court would strike that down in a heartbeat. Seriously: making it a crime to complain to police that you believe someone is breaking the law?

The police already have ways of dealing with people who make nuisance complaints.
I said his agenda, meaning he's doing what he can to interfere using whatever means he can. I'm not saying to charge him for calling in a complaint.
This guy is already on the record for getting in the face of neighbors WHILE they're shooting. I only mentioned what he's done to me, and I haven't even shot a gun on my property in 2 years. He simply targeted me for my opinion.
I have no problem criminalizing someone who's knowingly interfering with someone using a gun lawfully. They're generally just combative individuals imposing their will.
There's no flowers being exchanged during these encounters Welsh and just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't mean it's not happening or not real.

I can't see this Bill passing either. As for complaining to police about shooting, noise etc., this type of activity would not constitute an offence. It would take an overt physical attempt to interfere, as in the case Rob had here in Chatham-Kent. As Angus posted, if the interference was of a more serious nature, there are already criminal charges that could be justified. Mischief would be one. Kudos to anyone who wants to further the rights of hunters, trappers and shooters, but I doubt this Bill will fly !
