The season has been going extremely well , after getting birds for other hunters I was finally able to lay the smack down not once but twice . Tagging out.

Thursday morning got got up nice and early and got into the woods . As day broke the gobbling started , problem was the birds came out behind me . 3 jakes followed by 6 toms trailing behind them another 3 jakes and 5 hens , as they worked there way toward me gobbling there heads off I new it was going to go down , the jakes were first to cross three the fence row at 15 yards , follow by the toms , as the 3 jakes beat the crap out of my avian x jake I watched the toms . They got to 15 yards and bang ,bird down.

so after taking this nice bird I decided to give it another shot yesterday morning , went to another spot that I know the birds use for shade and to dust on these hot days we have been having , got setup and had birds gobbling right from the start . Around 8 am everything went silent and the birds seem to vanish into thin air , I jumped on the truck and went for a drive , and sure enough there is a brute standing all by himself in the middle of a wheat field , time for a stock. I grabbed my jake decoy and off I went . Go into the field and could see him fanned up on the low spot . I crawled on my belly for 150 yards and stuck the jake decoy dead in front of me , the brute saw it and came running , got to about 4 yards and started gobbling , all I had going threw my head was I am going to eat his Spurs of he takes one more step, I pulled the trigger and wouldn't you know it I missed . He pitched and bang , down he goes .

I packed up up and head for home to meet a Buddy who had also shot a bird .
2 days 2 birds can't ask for any better than that ,

congrats way to go on some great birds ,,I got one tag left to fill .just not sure what farm I want to hunt next ,it has been a great season even with bird numbers down this year ..Dutch
