Suspect the likely culprit was my wife forgetting to take her daily pill and than not saying anything. A 40 minute surgery on my part solved the problem after the 4th.

Nope, but I have no problem if someone with "No Motivation" wants to give it up.

If everyone gave it up there would be no support and hunting would be banned, have fun with that.
I will never give up hunting, I have no motivation this year and by the looks of this thread I am not the only one.

See not everyone would give it up. Sure the opening day, fair weather weekend warrior may give it up but are they hunters? The ones who stick it out too the last moment they are for ever. The cost of licenses is like investments. Sure every one is happy when the stock goes up and comment on how good of an investor they are yet the moment it goes down everyone whines what a rip off. So this year the first part of the season may be a bit of a ponzy scheme but it does and will get better.
For next year to minimize your "waste" consider leaving the guns at home. Nothing stopping you from gearing up and bringing the camera with you. Once you pattern them than go out and by your permit to bring him home.

I have been out 5 mornings so far this season. Seen turkeys 3 times, but none close enough to take a shot. The birds in my area have been quiet, cautious, or absent. Despite the tough go, I am not giving up...

Has too much time on their hands

"No motivation" to turkey hunt in one particular spring when you have an arm's-length list of other responsibilities to attend to is in no way the same thing as giving up.
Plus, there's a lot more "hunting" to be do done in any given year than just turkey hunting. I like turkey hunting well enough, but when home/family responsibilities demand a certain amount of time, my premium hunting time goes to big game first and turkey when and if I get the chance. On the other hand, some guys are die-hard turkey hunters first and foremost.
I'm pretty sure what Fox is trying to say here is that he feels that his time and money (which is at a premium) could have been better spent taking care of other important matters rather than chasing less than cooperative or non-existent turkeys around. It's nothing to feel guilty about. It doesn't mean he's not a "hunter". He's got stuff to do, which is the case for many of us in the spring, or any season.

No Motivation
I had the same thing last year. My buddy wanted one more stab at it and asked me to take him. I had a lot going on. I appeased him but sitting under that tree my mind was racing. When we went back for a break I started doing what needed to get done. He disappeared to nap. I never woke him and got stuff done.
This year I had the choice of get stuff done now and get some birds in the fall or get turkey now and maybe birds in the fall. I went with get stuff done now so I can get some duck and goose time in. Been out a couple times for.turkey and have couple more days planned.

I get the "no motivation". Had he said you know its tough out there got other things to do time and money well spent so far but going to hang my hat up this year would have no problem. Calling it a "waste" diminishes the sport and that I find troubling.
