awesome find. I would put up a trailcam for sure next fall or winter and see if you can catch them coming in and out.

I wouldn't want to find that while bears are still using it that's for sure...

Back in the mid 70's we were running Plott Hounds to bear hunt. Quite often the bears we were running ran back to their den when chased. Every once in awhile a wounded bear goes to his den to die. At age 12, it was my job to go in and retrieve after we were sure it was dead.

Now a days it's illegal to harass a bear in its den.

Very cool for sure ! That is something that has always stumped me - for all of the bush wandering I have done, I have never found a bear den.

I'd be willing to bet a months pay that you've likely walked past a dozen of them and simply didn't notice. You wouldn't believe where they den up. I found one while rabbit hunting that was under a big deadfall with brush piled around and over it where you'd only expect to find rabbits. You never know where you'll meet up with one when you least expect it.

coold find... only stumbled across 2 myself... one as a kid, looked just like the one you found, we crawled in and had a look around... young and dumb lol

the 1st bear i shot ran about 150 yards before dying, died right in front of a den, i assume that is where he was heading just ran out of steam before he made it in... lucky for me lol
