They would have been using Amateur Radio frequencies that you need to be licensed to use. It is not hard to get your basic ham license. You need only 70% to pass and there is no longer a morse code test.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

No.. Not yet.. I was practicing s few months ago. . But it's on the back burner again.
You can also program the radios for frs

They are not type approved for GMRS/FRS. That makes it illegal to use them there.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
