I usually don't see any ducks out back at my place from now until late August. This year I have moms and babies, and mallards, geese and wood ducks coming and going many times a day. In the evening many come to roost as well. The doves are way up too. They are hitting the excess seeds from my sunflower and wheat food plots.
I am doing the drawdown now on my main impoundment and the barnyard millets and moist soil plants are coming up everywhere. I think it will be a great opener but lots of work to do between now and then.

My cottage is east of Durham. Two weeks ago I was out for a river paddle, and flushed 18 mallard drakes ( suspect that hens were still on the nest), all down the river in the brush.
This Fall certainly seems to be looking up.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.
