Good column today by Goldstein. Won't change the Harper haters but might turn on a bulb for many who blindly swallow all the bullsheet that Wynne imposes on us. She is like a drug addict. She will do anything, sell off the furniture to take our money to pay off those who keep her in power.

I always get a kick out of Goldstein's climate change observations. It never ceases to amaze me the arrogance humans show towards controlling Mother Nature.

A number of Goldstein's points are right, but be cautious convincing yourselves that we don't need to do anything about climate change. For instance, maybe the oil sands aren't as bad a carbon source as they are made out to be - that doesn't mean we should do what we can (that makes sense) to at least take care of our own emissions. If the US, China and India are the top 3 emitters, fine - that doesn't prevent us from taking care of our own problems.

Air pollution and Water Pollution will kills us long before CO2... No such thing as MMGW, CC, GLW or whatever you want to call it. It is all a tax scheme, to take more from you all.... If you build the story, they will buy it (public), Story builders (Scientist..$$$$ funds), the benefiters (governments via taxes, or stock markets for the $$$). Get real people.

I used to believe in the hype of 90's...not any more

At this point a general collapses and failure of the world sociaties may not be as bad compared to some of the options possible.

You just have to be ready to deal with the three waves of migration from the major population centres.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

Oh we have built ourselves a deck of cards, just look at the TINY sample of a communications failure on the TTC today. Everyone was polite compared to the options.

A relatively small volcano in Iceland and airways are stopped.... much larger volcanoes in Iceland, super volcanoes around the world, a super solar flare like in 1859 (near miss recently) would take out power for weeks or months, nations like Russia (also allied with China and Iran) ........ water pollution, (dioxins, mercury, micro plastics...), acid rain, diseases like ebola, ... we are walking a tight rope and even if it is man-made global warming.... and I have seen enough to doubt it (continued trends, CFC emissions, giant heat sinks (cities) around the world etc.) then which is the better idea... we need to look at the priorities and reducing the emissions is a priority but not for the reasons the eco-idiots keep citing.

Carbon taxes/cap and trade etc. are nothing more than a way to fund more bureaucrats and tax the rich as much as possible to redistribute as much wealth as they can ... not so much to the poor but to their supporters in my opinion.

I think we kill each other off, long, long before mother nature does. If we need evidence look at.
    China
    Russia
    Mid east
    US ( internal and external)
lack of fresh water (see many parts of Europe, Australia, Africa, the US)
    More.

Green initiatives, "global warming" etc, while noble are folly. "Proof" as they say is in the pudding.

Theres a world of difference between being conscious and jumping off the deep end into a pool of idealism and more.
