my wife and daughter really like the Italian fish crisp, the beer batter one is pretty good to .thy make cooking fish very easy ,,Dutch

Those are great suggestions. We only just flour them with salt and pepper and into the oil. I will try some of those. Thanks.

I did the beer batter with pickerel last week and the guys got mad at me because I ate most of it before it got to the table. That beer batter is great.

Jealous! Been trying to get out there but my work schedule and weather have yet to line up. The port Stanley public ramp just opened yesterday.

Can anyone say how the perchin has been down the eastern end of Lake Erie .. ie: out from Port Colbourne or Port Maitland ?

Went out of Burwell on Sat & made the bumpy run to Hastings.
It was worth the run.
30 lbs of fillets between 4 of us.

And this bonus.

Went out a port Bruce Tuesday morn. Found schools and had one on by 8am. Stop back at the pier to pickup a buddy who was running late. Went back out and nothing. Fish finder was ringing off the hook with schools at 25-30 ft. But no bites? ?? What gives! Gave up around 1 pm with the same first fish, and threw him back. Any ideas??
