Default Montreal bylaw; dogs understand commands in both official languages

Buddy sent me this...good for a laugh.

Earlier this week, Montreal city councilor Benoit LaDouce proposed a bylaw that would require all dogs in public parks to be bi-lingual. According to Mr. LaDouce, "Dogs parks in our city are chaotic and communication is at the heart of the conflict." In his mind, K9/citizen relations would be more harmonious if dogs in public spaces understood commands in both English and French.

P.S. take note, this was back in 2012 and was done as a radio spoof...

LOL, I guess I'll stay off the island (or at least walk my dog off the island) next time I'm visiting. All she knows is "tabernac!".

Some of the comments are pretty funny!

I wouldn't put it past them! Actually, no, this spoof is not quite accurate. To be accurate, the bylaw would require all dogs to understand French - they don't care about English.

Mine are quad-lingual (I'm sure that's not a word) -- English, French, sign, dog

I think this is an excellent idea but why stop at French and English? China is a force today in world economy. We need to include them and Spanish/Mexican (now that US cars are built there). Now this to me, is four-word thinking!
