I guess When I'm out for Moose I have no business being there, doing what I'm doing. My Remington 742 has no use as a hunting firearm. Because someone told her that semi-automatic guns are dangerous, and no one needs a semi automatic firearm.

Also notice, although not specifically called out, she didn't consider semi Shotguns as hunting firearms either.

Heck I would be more worried about lever action than a Semi Auto Jammaster.

    And her Dad's .303 had a scope!

I would like to here ole Gilroy's take on this as I do recall him stating in the past that they would not do anything like this. Oh Gilroy where are you please explain why as usual I am right and you are as always wrong!

I'm pulling back from my earlier feeling that this was a trial balloon. Parts of it, parts that I missed the first time around, are simply too off-the-wall to be serious policy proposals. Such as, for example, prohibiting any transportation of restricted guns except by professional gun transporters.

On closer examination this looks more like a deliberate poke in the eye, intended as political theatre. You said your duck guns and deer rifles shouldn't be picked on? Okay, only duck guns and deer rifles will be legal, then. You wanted the ATT paperwork burden eased? Okay, we'll take it off your hands completely by making it illegal for you to transport a gun, period. And so on. It seems designed to p*ss off gun owners. The speech works the same way, claiming she's strengthening sports shooting when she knows she's doing the exact opposite. It's Orwellian.

The most farcical aspect is, as FW pointed out already, telling hunters that guns people have hunted with for generations aren't genuine "hunting firearms." There is of course no legitimate public safety rationale for the distinctions she draws. As Franklin Zimring wrote back in 1968, handguns retailing for less then $50 are surely a public safety concern, but so are handguns selling for more than $50: when it comes to long gun murders, they're as likely to be done with bolt actions as semi-autos. What a joke.

I will guarantee you if Justin or Muclair form a government or a coalition you will see much more e rigid then the old registry. We are headed for the same rules as Australia and there will be out ride banning of every single type of semi auto and I would suspect pump rifles as well.

Hmmm makes you wonder why anyone wants the remaining copies anymore, I mean they should be of no use now right or are they.

Noticed how they also first demanded a copy for the rest of Canada when supposedly it shouldn't exist at all, were all the records actually deleted?

As I said before copies still exist just Jim Bo the DBA or some other person has shown his hand yet.

That's a more important question than you would think. I can see the attack ad,now. It would be a doozy if I wrote it. LOL
