Camping/ Fishing Eastern Ontario
Good morning,
I'm looking for somewhere within afew hours of Renfrew County to do some camping/ fishing for a weekend. I'd like to try something new rather then going to the same spots I've been going to for years. Bissett Creek is on my list of somewhere I would like to try. Not looking for anyones secret crown camping spot, but maybe a kick in the right direction!
Thanks

There's also Quacken Bush near Matachewan RD and Twin Lakes near Denigby off 41.

How is access to those? I have a 4x4 truck, or is it canoe in only?

Has too much time on their hands
Do you only want crown land camping? If not - have a look at www.coveredbridgepark.com. It's on both the Bonnechere River and Round Lake.

There is also Valiant Lake and Mousseau Lake and a few others I cannot remember, Mousseau and Valiant are a bit more diffcult and you cannot be afraid to scratch your truck. They hold Splake and Bows. Little Lake is Splake, Big Bissett is Bows and Smallies. There is also waterloo but it's a tight squeeze for a Jimmy can't be afraid of the trees. You can now get to Chateau Lake lot's of nice Bass there. Zoom it's left off of the main road down a logging road about 10 km's.
Zoom into Google earth. If you have any question just PM me. I camp at Big Shingle Lake but probably won't be back out there until late August have to build a garage.
PM me if you have any additional questions. Bissett Creek is a beautiful place to explore. With the ATV's my buddy and I just bought we can now cover much more territory then we could in the past.

Used to spend time North of Oompah, Plevna. A series of lakes along a hydro line. Quit when they started to charge a trail fee about 20 years ago but the lakes are still there.....
