As the owner of a Brittany, I have no doubt it would do the same thing. Hard lesson learned.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I remember hunting with beagles years ago when a racoon lured a beagle into a river. At that time I was in my teens and yelled to my father that a coon had one of dogs in the creek. His responses was "Shoot the first head that pops up" My dad knew the coon would be on top. Yes we shot the first head that popped up and the dog returned to hunt many a rabbits. It was a lesson I have never forgotten.

Interesting, but I think the guy in BC that just punched out a cougar to save his wiener dog takes the cake. Surprised it hasn't been posted yet - its been all over the news.
