Metamucil versus Benefibre (For the old guys)
Last year my wife decided that I needed some of her Metamucil. Ghastly stuff fitting for the grade 12 chemistry lab....Last week we found some Benefibre and decided to give it a try because of some new meds I have started. I can add it to a cup of hot coffee and never know its there....Was gonna try it in cold carbonated drinks but the directions say not to....

The only difference I see is that Metamucil contains psyllium fiber, and the other one doesn't. I think Metamucil is probably recommended most by heath pro's, and I know the stuff works.

Why go pharma?
Broccoli, spinach salads, sour kraut, pineapple, dates whatever...
There are loads of nicer ways to get the same GI effect in good food.

I cannot take Metamucil within two hours of some of my meds or it binds with them and the meds don't work. Doesn't happen with the Benefibre..... Not to mention that Metamucil spoils the taste and texture of any parent liquid.
