Top water fishing on Lake Erie

I took my dad out on Lake Erie in our canoe as the water was really calm today. We were out by Nanticoke and the topwater bite was on! The fish were smashing my heddon torpedo and I landed my biggest smallmouth to date at 4.3 lbs, plus a few others in the 2.5-3.9 lb range. The average size was incredible once again, but the fishing was a bit slower than last Sunday.
I have a feeling these bass will be heading to deeper water shoals soon!
Oh and my dad landed his biggest bass ever and had a great time. I haven`t been fishing with him since last fall so it was a nice outing for both of us!

That is a killer bait for topwater smallmouth.

A good largemouth explosion on top is good but nothing beats a smallmouth clearing 3 ft of water on the strike!
