    Default Gun Cleaning Supplies

    Hey All,

Money is incredibly tight right now but I really to be able to clean my .22

Instead of buying a full kit, can I buy tools specific to .22 (or similar smaller calibre rifles) without getting kits that allow you to clean virtually all calibres and gauges?

If so, what tools/items will I be needing?

Thanks for all your help in advance
Totally new to hunting. Please excuse my ignorance. That is all.

The bore snakes are good ,in some cases but won't work in all actions , in my buddies Ruger 10/22, there is not enough room to get the snake into the action .

I picked up a small kit from Sail the other day. Just for .22cal. Even gave you some patches. It was about 12$. I picked up 500 patches for another 9$. The kit gave you solvent, oil the rod and brushes etc. Made by Hoppes. It'll last me quite a while.
The important thing I find is getting the right screwdrivers to disassemble your rifle if need be. Gunsmithing screwdrivers should be hollow ground not like the crap you find at the hardware stores. Lee Valley sells a nice set for that purpose. You don't have to by the whole set. Figure which sizes you'll need. 3/16", 1/4" whatever. Shouldn't cost more than 8-10$ per driver.
