It wasn't done then because the time wasn't right.

If you're afraid they'll rebuild a registry to confiscate your guns, your fear is misplaced. Any government can make your guns illegal at any time. If you own a gun that's made prohibited, you have a simple choice: give it up, or become a criminal. Indeed, if that was the original intent of C-68, they could simply have done it then.

If the next government have enough seats to attack legal gun owners expect them to do just that and the RCMP and the OPP under Wynne's direction will be too pleased to attack us. Lock your doors, can't see Harper getting a majority let alone even winning the election.

And Muclair has stated he will, so .... I take it that he intends to come down very hard on gun owners.

I agree. Wether it is in the form of a registry, reclassification or outright bans I have no doubt an NDP government will be devastating to gun owners. He's a Quebecer and will owe his win to Quebec. The left will always blame legal gun owners for the MTL massacre.

NDP.... not the Liberal version of the registry... but the need to track all guns.
Liberals .... reclassifications....
CBC reporter saying the NFA wants to legalize semi-auto firearms, I have talked to people that thought they were already illegal.
More of the media willing to lie for the left, more ignorance, less tolerance, more fear mongering.... they will "in the name of public safety"
Basing anything on what a politician has said is essentially just believing what you want to believe.
Politicians routinely reverse their positions based on which way the wind is blowing.

Exactly! I will, of course, vote for the CPC but I am really ticked off with the CPC for not completely repealing Bill C-68 (which I believe they promised to do.)

Me too Pete, I believe that they want to but there was not enough time or the timing was not right hopefully if they get another majority we will see this happen but I am ready to quickly dump my restricteds and my nr beretta carbine in case they start rattling sabers about scary guns and bad people who own them .lol and no. I am not the sky is falling kinda guy, just a realist that doesnt want to be out a few thousand bucks at the stroke of a pen.

Welsh, so I have to ask. So you don't think that Muclair and JT will do anything like ban guns's care to make a bet?

It will be quite comical if the registry is re-built and the person in charge of it has to try and explain why there is only half as many guns registered as last time.
