    Default Pulled Goose

Found a couple goose breasts buried in the freezer so threw them in the slow cooker with some cola and apple juice as well as garlic and diced onions for 5 hours. Drained the liquid from the pot, then added 1/2 a can of stewed tomatoes and some BBQ sauce with a bit of chili pepper and cayenne, ripped the meat apart and cooked on low for another 5 hours. Came out awesome, will be doing this again with goose as it was a lot better then pork.

WOW! Always just make ours into sausage. That sounds great though!

Tried this last weekend with duck and it was amazing. Thought I had goose left in the freezer but all I had was duck and turkey.
The duck breasts weren't very fun to pull but the meat on the thighs/legs crumbled and pulled like a dream. I make pulled pork all the time but this was my first time trying such a lean meat. I will be doing this again, thanks for the idea.

The best way to use goose breasts I've ever tried.
    Thanks for this recipe.

A buddy of mine like waterfowl hunting but wasn't too fond of the meat until he tried a similar recipe. Now a standard on any of our fishing/hunting trips.

I upped this a little, I used a smoked pork roast and smoked wild turkey breast. Slow cooked it in the coke solution, then drained off the liquid added the tomatoes and bbq sauce and a ladle of the original cooking au jus back into the the mixture and slow cooked again. It turned out absolutely amazing!!!

Sorry to open an old thread, but I cooked up my first goose for the family, they loved it. Brined with oranges and BBQ'd. For the leftovers, do you guys think it would be possible to now make this pulled goose? I'm a bit leery of reheating it as I don't want to make it into shoe leather!
