Default Anyone in the woods yet?

New to Ottawa, just moved here 3 weeks ago. Been combing the woods for 3 weeks, and putting many miles on the car and only ended up moving 1 grouse. That is until Friday. We put up 4 grouse and a woodcock and then this morning we had 4 single grouse, a double, a brood of about 8 and a woodcock.

Not yet been to darn hot! Got to get the pup ready for fall. At 30 every day but for an hour in the morning not much doing. At least shes getting a lot of swim time. Hopefully next week with some cooler day temps forecasted will be able to get more training time in and be some what prepared for fall.

However she has come a long ways since spring thoughDSC00088.jpg

    That is a beautiful setter.
I'm in the woods weekly but haven't see a bird of interest.

As of Aug 15, I can run my dogs off leash there so we'll see what they find.

FFF how is your pup bred? Good looking pup.

Susan where do you run? Hullet says Aug 1st zone A and July 15th Zone B?

I thought it was Aug 15 Zone B. I'll have to double check with Hullett or do you have a 2015 link for those dates?

    Dog Training

Dog training is permitted in Zone "A" prior to May 15 and after August 1.

Dog training is permitted in Zone "B" prior to May 15 and after July 15.

Dogs are to be leashed or under immediate control of the handler.

If you use live birds for training you must obtain the appropriate permits from the MNR Vineland Area Office. You may need one or both of the following permits:

    1. Authorization to Conduct Field Trials and Training During closed season.

    2. Authorization to Release Wildlife Imported into Ontario Propagated from Stock Imported into Ontario.

The MNR office issuing these permits may be contacted at (905) 562-1177.

Thank you very much gentlemen. Saving that so I don't muck it up next year. Off to Hullett to morrow.
