Got out again this morning and tried somewhere new. 2 WC and a grouse brood in a about an hour on the ground. Life is good.

I haven't been out enough, but so far a lot less woodcock then I am used to, but there seems to be lots of grouse around.

Think we are in a high point of the grouse cycle last fall in the bush I hunt found more than usual. Good too hear your finding them as was a bit concerned with the minimal drumming I heard this spring while turkey hunting. Woodcock wouldn't be to worried widely scattered they will bunch up with the migration soon enough.

Those are pretty good numbers in this area.

Yup just dusted off the ol' boots this wkn. I'm staying on trails close to the water. Keep the dog cool and hydrated. Hoping to hit the "birdy" areas once the temps dip down a bit.

Havnt left the woods yet, run hounds almost year round. July and August not as regular but it's been cool nights and not bad running.
