Close call with Grizzly
Close call! Can't imagine the carnage this bear would have created if the home owner was unarmed? I am a bit concerned with the CO's comments "These people were doing everything right. They had the gun stored properly, everything was done properly." It suggests that the homeowner was taken to task for and questioned about his use of firearm? Things that make you go hummmmm?

I think you're reading too much into it BM. The CO was referring to the fact that the homeowners were being very diligent with regards to managing anything that would attract a bear to their home and yet because someone else had not, the bear associated a home with food. Look at the claws on that boy though!

"...we are the only house on the block that has a gun....guess he picked the wrong house."
So if this can happen so easy in town....why do people think we are crazy for wanting to carry in the bush?
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.

I took it to mean they did everything right in regards to avoiding bear conflicts. The comments are outrageous as per usual "they should have waited for the CO" etc... Yes, waited, with a grizzly in your home, between you and the door.

Why even mention the gun being stored properly? Who fricken cares when you have a bear in your house?

That's the way I see it also? The CO even mentioning that the firearm was stored properly is ridiculous under these circumstances.

It is probably a good thing that this was mentioned, without it being mentioned this story ends up being about a crazy redneck with loaded guns all over the house.
This was not stated in the article for anyone on here or any other shooting/hunter but rather the person that thinks every gun is an AK47.
