Now I won't put any stock in where I hunt, just go out and find good sign, if I can find the does then the bucks will not be too far away.
Oh, saw a nice buck on the way back from the range
, now I need to get permission to hunt that farm.

So, Why do you apply for one? To reduce the chance for the other?

In thick brush, its handy to have when your 'pretty sure' its a buck or if it 'acts like' a buck. Many times, I could have easily shot a deer but couldn't see its head. Also nice to have if you have new hunters who haven't ever shot a deer.

Like the trophy I shot last year in thick brush, couldn't tell if it was a limb or an antler. Just wanted until I was sure.

But it doesn't sound like it's the case of Mike, if don't want to shot he breeder why apply for one? Unless he wants to shot a fawn.... (nothing wrong with that)

Just checked I'm good for a doe in 94.
Seem every year I have got a doe tag , even though they say the population is down.
I have seen more deer since they said the population was down than ever before.
Good luck to all of you this season.
