Three weeks ago, some nut broke into a cottage in Bobcaygeon while the homeowner slept. After an initial confrontation with the crook, the homeowner shot and killed the perp. After an extensive investigation by the OPP,the Crown decided charges weren't warranted. Add this to a very long list across the counrty where the net result was the same. Who says we don't have the right to self defense? Uninformed people that still believe Liberal/left wing media bullshyte.

So a guy who lives in grizzly country leaves the door open, only to have the screen door protecting his family, plus they have dog and cat food accessable or at least open enough for the smell to waft outside.... Sounds like this guy ain't too bright to begin with.

But yes, when faced with an imminent threat, here is another reason to keep your arms close at hand. You may have a grizzly bear break into your house.

The door was not open. The bear broke the screen door but the main door was closed. It came in through a window that was left open to let cool air in the house. The pet food was in the kitchen in sealed containers. Same as the food in your kitchen.

I think you'll find most of the folks living in a small mountain community, in Bear Country, keep a loaded 'predator' gun fairly close to their side and no one questions it.

Nothing unusual to the circumstance and nothing unusual to the response....rarely these things get news coverage.

I found humour in that the CBC had to put a " Warning: This story contains a graphic image of the dead bear" on the story.
