    1.1 What is propylene glycol?

Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. Propylene glycol is also used to make polyester compounds, and as a base for deicing solutions. Propylene glycol is used by the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries as an antifreeze when leakage might lead to contact with food. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified propylene glycol as an additive that is "generally recognized as safe" for use in food. It is used to absorb extra water and maintain moisture in certain medicines, cosmetics, or food products. It is a solvent for food colors and flavors, and in the paint and plastics industries. Propylene glycol is also used to create artificial smoke or fog used in fire-fighting training and in theatrical productions. Other names for propylene glycol are 1,2-dihydroxypropane, 1,2-propanediol, methyl glycol, and trimethyl glycol.
Propylene glycol is clear, colorless, slightly syrupy liquid at room temperature. It may exist in air in the vapor form, although propylene glycol must be heated or briskly shaken to produce a vapor. Propylene glycol is practically odorless and tasteless.

This is not the ethylene glycol used in antifreeze!
It's also used in the manufacturing process of most computer keyboards.

It is already explained by the statement above, "and by the paint and plastics industries".

Imo, feeding your dog anti freeze has to do with "dog safety" like the title of this thread is titled. It may be a little off but in the grand scheme of things, who really cares? My first post was more meant as a little comic relief.
    Whatever.

I was joking as well when I made the comment about glycol being used in the manufacturing process of computer keyboards. I was hoping he would stop using his keyboard! lol

Appears a Michigan couple got 15 years as owners of a dog that killed a jogger - after 2 prior attacks on folk.

You can't be too safe I guess. ( sarcasm).
I was out front watering the garden yesterday when a lady and dog came along the sidewalk in the sweltering heat. The dog was obviously in need of water. I offered a drink from the hose ; the lady said , "Oh no! he only drinks bottled water."

    I held my tongue.

You should have said, "Hang on, I'll see if I can find one."

Dear lord! Only bottled water! I don't even want to know sometimes what my dog is getting into when out for a hike in the bush, never mind ensuring he would get bottled water, pshh. Dogs sniff butts, lick thier arses and privates, won't hesitate to eat shiiit of all kinds....but she wouldn't let it drink from a hose? Summer as a kid was all about slurping hose water!

You should have taken a drink from the hose in front of her Sharon. Mmmm
