Elk Hunting
I am looking for a place to hurt Elk in WMU 61 south of the hydro transmission lines harvest unit 6. I entered as an individual and drew a cow tag. Willing to pay for some private land to hunt. Can be reached at 613 453 3900. Thanks Rob

Hey congrats on the tag, I bet you did a happy dance when you got notice. There has to be a farmer in that area that has several nusiance elk on their property and would gladly take a small donation or a few prime cuts as payment to hunt... I would scan Google earth pin point some areas and take a couple afternoons knocking on doors if you really want to make sure you get some Elk hunting time in. Good luck and I hope you do drop one!!!

A happy dance is an understatement. lol . I have tried several different approaches to obtain landowners permission, but to no avail. I will keep trying, someone will eventually say yes. Thanks for the input.

Elk Hunting
We drew a tag couple years ago for 60. At the same we spoke to people from opp mnr hydro roads and a bunch of locals. I was shown a pic taken by a farm around 62 and hwy 7 of a nice bull on a farm. Another bull was also hit by a truck that same month in the same area. We also saw cows close to the timbermart at 62 and hwy 7. We just did that one day just to look at one as we were losing wind in our sails and just wanted to make sure they existed hahaha. Cooper road i believe. That area of 61 might be a good area to start. The opp guys and hydro were helpful as well as the roads guys. Good place to start. Good luck.

Hey thanks. I have tried there, seems that a lot of the land is spoken for. I have heard of a few elk in the Deerock Lake area. Who knows?
