Default Our Camping Trip up North (pic heavy)

So Aug 1 My Best and long time friend Tim, my son and myself headed to Goose Falls for our trip. Goose Falls is approx 100 km's North west of Sturgeon Falls. We have been going there for about 4 years now. We haven't done any real fishing up there but have been doing some exploring. Next year we will bring up the ATV's so we can explore farther in.

We camped at Goose Falls above the Falls for 2 nights. We spent most of Saturday swimming and then Sunday morning it rained until around noon. We did check out some new roads we found but each time we came to either a dead end or it was not easily passable. Next year we will have the ATV's.

After Goose Falls we headed South West over to Espanola for Moose Lake. We camp on a small beautiful island there. This time we new where the abandoned Gold Mine shaft was and we wanted to check it out. There are two shafts one on the Main Land on one on a island we found both and we also found a eeny teeny speck of Gold, yup going to retire now I think it is worth 10 cents . We confirmed it was Gold when we got back.

We also spent some time climbing the La Cloche Mountains and did some fishing up at West Quartzite Lake.

This is the long house tent.

Trying out some of the functions on my camera. I have twins now.

    Panoramic

    Someone watching from above.

My son playing in the river. I have no idea why he is wearing boots in the river.

    Taking a rest.

    Espanola

We camped with this little crittle living on the island. We suspect since he was so tamed that he has been there all year and is use to people.

The Long House all set up.

The Gold operation. I love finding these pieces of history.
We figure this was for maybe a smelter not sure

The smoke stack there was also another section about 20 ft long.

We think this might be the remains of a Ball Mill?

    One of the test pits.

    Watch your step.

Oh yeah our specks of gold.

My son with a nice smallie at West Quartzite. He just got that rod for his Birthday from his Grandfather (We lost the old one the last trip out.)

A nice view from the La Cloche Mountains.

Interesting area. I enjoyed the pics as well and looks like you had a great time. This is a great time of year to be out without all the bugs.

    Nice trip
The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

The shafts are suppose to be 150 meters, but they were filled with water. We told my son if he held his breath we could lower him into it, but yeah he didn't want to do that. We were cracking open chunks of Quartz and had a few other samples that looked promising but someone forgot what they did with them.
