If I remember Sharon you were one of the ones instrumentally in having the 'Dog House' sub-forum created because folks kept posting threads about silly things about 'mutts having fun' instead of serious stuff like training pure breeds.
Like you said, neither forum gets much traffic these days, less than 15 threads a month in the Sporting Dog forum and less than 10 a month in the Dog Forum means they isn't a huge interest. Creating more sub-forums won't solve that problem.
....."enjoy it as it is"...seems to be the answer.

But probably nutrition talk would continue to pop up in most all threads.
I consider "Ontario-Out -of Doors" to be a fishing and hunting forum. If I had my way there wouldn't be a Dog House section , but just a "Hunting and Training your Gun dog" section.
However , no forum will please everyone and I enjoy it as it is.
I understand where you are coming from Sharon but Ontario -Out -of Doors has many meanings depending what your outdoors sport is or interest, camping, rock climbing, hiking, fossil finding, bird watching, trapping etc. By preventing a sub section would completely ignore many other dog related activities and the opportunity for new forum members to grow. What an opportunity for Ontario Out of Doors to expand it's membership and possible advertising dollars with new people. I do not believe the current forum membership would shrink but peak new interest and get away from the same bantering everyday, same topics over and over. You know as well as I do we already have other Hunting and Training forums that already exist. Basically these become just boys clubs and I do not want this to happen to Ontario Out of Doors. If it did people would leave and find another forum to participate in. This is only being suggested given the name of this forum and in my opinion a big opportunity .
If it were to change to a Hunting and Training your Gun dog forum Sharon as your preference and probably others as well the Ontario Out of Doors would loose many members. It would mean many steps back but if it would continue to diversify it would grow steadily. They would be the first. Keeping in mind current forum members would not have to participate but I would be very surprised if they didn't. I have talked to a few current forum members that are very intrigued ,curious and open to learning more about other dog sports.

Not so. Cal Tek and I discussed the "problem" and that was the best we could agree on.
He's the boss.
It has worked not badly.

The term "Ontario-Out-of Doors" of course has many meanings Vince , but not as it pertains to this forum imo.

So how is that "Not So".....your intervention with Caltek resulted in the creation of the "Dog House'.....haha
And looking at your activity in the 'Dog House' forum you seem to be enjoying it so it wasn't a bad decision.

"It has worked not badly. " quote Sharon said above.
( Jay and I don't have interventions. Neither of us have an alcohol or drug problem. )

LOL those were the days. Some of the "serious" dog folks (that rarely post anyway) would get pretty bent outta shape.
I support your cause YD, just because I like ya.

Thank you for the suggestion and feedback. At this time we will not be creating any new forums or sub-forums.
