Toronto Olympics?
"A week before the deadline to compete to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, officials said they’re still trying to determine whether bidding for the Games would be good for Toronto."

Good for Toronto? Never mind the state of affairs the rest of the province is in? Man oh man, nothing like these twits making my blood boil!

I am firmly against hosting the games...... but
Look at it from the politicians point of view... All those new buildings and security positions will create a lot of jobs, making themselves look really job (stimulating the economy)... Most politicians are very short sighted...

IF Toronto is successful in getting the Olympics, I wonder what kind of revenue tools Premier Skeletor will bring in to pay for it (there will have to be some new facilities as some of the Olympic games aren't in the Pan-Am games and a new athlete's village will need to be created because the one for the Pan-Am are turning into housing units). Just remember the original price tag for running the Pan-Am games was supposed to be 1.4 billion and then the extra costs were added (upgrading Tim Horton's field in Hamilton for soccer, security costs, and transportation). How much do you think the Olympics will cost originally plus the added costs?

I'd love to see the Olympics in Ontario... but that's only because I think with all of the facilities already built & upgraded throughout the GTA it doesn't have to be a fiscal disaster.
If i'm wrong about the state of all those public, private and college & uni facilities... then it'd be a bad idea to bid.

I hope they do not get the games in TO...we don't need the security or traffic headaches and in most Olympic games the host city ends up in debt that we the citizens have to pay and we DO NOT need any more debt piled on us especially with a LIEBERAL government screwing us at every chance we get and if that IDIOT Trudough gets in we will be forced even further into debt! NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vancouver was successful, so far numbers for pan am are positive so who knows. On the bright side it would speed up long overdue road work and expansions of major arteries into and out of the city
That rug really tied the room together

John Tory and bag face Wynne will not even be around any government in 2024 and the way Ontario's economy is going I don't want any more debt put on my grand children's shoulders .

Have we actually seen the balance sheet from the Pan Am games?
