Got my first 2 ever this morning. The guy I was supposed to hunt with had to work last minute so I went alone. A small Flock snuck in really silently but I managed 2 of them. uploadfromtaptalk1441930208478.jpg

Congrats to those that got out to get some birds. I haven't had any time to scout or seek permission for geese, so not likely to get out for the early season. Also missed northern duck opener but a trip north this weekend may result in a quick hunt Sunday morning.

Congratulations to those that managed to get some birds. Recognition for Maxco41 for shooting his first pair of geese! Nothing much flying around in my area, so no pictures. The geese are still landing on my neighbour's harvested wheat field, so I'll be talking to her this morning to verify permission. My buddies are coming up tonight so I hope to have a nice field set up for them.

Not much happening yesterday, with only 1 goose coming to land on the pond. Today is a different story with one pair landing on the pond early this morning and 4 standing in the decoys when I came home from shopping. My buddies will be here tonight and it looks like we should be into some birds tomorrow morning!Attachment 30697Attachment 30698Attachment 30699

Got out for a quick hunt before work today with a couple buddies. We ended up with only one goose but what an awesome morning. Sun was out, ducks were flying around like crazy, turkeys gobbling all around us and even heard some coyotes howling. The gobbler didn't think too much of the coyotes yipping or of my goose call lol. He was even gobbling at some of the ducks that were swimming around and calling in our pond. Another example of why a successful hunt is not always all about the killing but just enjoying the outdoors. I had been looking forward to my first hunt of the fall since turkey season closed and it definitely didn't disappoint. Good luck to everyone this fall and enjoy your time in the outdoors!

Can't wait for tomorrow! Heading to a shallow back lake with my bud. Were heading out for geese in the early AM and will follow up with some walleye fishing.

My "opener" was this morning. Will do a write up after but I will say "it was one for the books"
