My favorite classroom was a '67 Chevelle in the last row of the Peterborough Drive-in. I can't remember one movie. We called it the passion pit. WOW!! This thread took an abrupt turn, didn't it?

Men.
I hear there is to be a province -wide strike by STUDENTS?? Thursday to show their disapproval of the new sex ed curriculum. Who would be organizing to take kids out of the classroom province - wide or ...........Sounds bizarre. Anyone read what that's about?

I am so grateful this government thinks it needs to parent my children. NOT!
When our children grow up to be complete messes, will the government take care of them?
Just have to look at society today to see how rare respect, innocence, intelligence, observent mindedness is.
How many kids hold doors for the elderly, how many kids will give their seat away to someone else in need?
We were taught to do that by our parents. Now the government steps in and says we're going to tell you how
to raise your kids and dare you mention raising them up with Christian values ...

The government does take care of the "messes" now. STD's and all the other associated issues.
I would suggest that if there is such a lack of respect in society that it might be more of a break-down at home then at the government level. Changes in the sex ed curriculum has nothing to do with societal unravelling.
I think a lot of us forget how uncomfortable it was to talk openly and honestly about sex to with our parents (Hey mom, I'm 12 and have hair growing down there). For what's it's worth my parents were great but their ability to answer questions about sex would have been based on the health classes they took in the 60's. Wonder how well that would have gone?
The world my kids are growing up in is very different from the one I did, there is a good chance that someone else might have some insight that I lack.

When my kids were in grade school my wife ran the parents council so we pretty well attended all meetings. I also have several friends who are teachers. Not once do I remember hearing anybody complain that the existing sex Ed curriculum was lacking. Interestingly when the government was taken over by a gay person she selected a man who is now a convicted pedophile to redesign the curriculum. Of course updates need to be ongoing but this new direction to some parents seems like agenda based grooming. Some parents disagree and for that are labeled as homophobic knuckle draggers. As always only Progressives are right.....something as family oriented and value based as sex Ed for children also deserves consultation. There wasn't any except for a few hand picked sheeple.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Sex ed isn't about the parents.
